Information:
According to the German standard "DIN 66334" "Verfahren zur Registrierung von Informationsobjekten" (in German), the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) is responsible for the registration of OIDs in Germany but has transfered the functions of the registry to DIN-CERTCO (hence child OID 0 beneath this OID). Other institutions can become registration authorities in which case child OIDs from 1 onwards would be used.

See OSI-Adressen - Digital Imaging and COmmunications in Medicine (DICOM) (in German). DIN-CERTCO is not aware if the assigned subsequent OIDs are used for DICOM only.

Note: Germany is also using {joint-iso-itu-t(2) country(16) de(276)}.
