Intended purpose/Application area: Enable market participants in Germany to operate exclusively in railway power to participate in market communication and to establish the railway power grid operator with its own MP-ID.
For other electricity market operators in Germany the responsible issuing organization is the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (in German, Bundesverband Der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft (BDEW) e.V.).
Organizations covered by this system : "DB Energie GmbH" is the sole operator of the railway power network in Germany. It has been commissioned to create their own EDIFACT manuals. The "DB Energie" code number is the market partner identification number (MP-ID) for the German railway electricity market according to the general provisions of EDI@Energy. With this number, each market participant and their respective role in the market can be uniquely identified. A "DB Energie" code number may only be used for the German railway electricity market and must be unique for each role of the market participant.
